Simco-ION’s static charging equipment in shoe sole application

One of the world’s largest shoe manufacturers has accomplished a significant efficiency improvement with the aid of Simco-ION’s static charging equipment.

Shoe soles and inlays have to be placed on a transport belt. Due to the high speed of the transport belt and the pick & place robot air movement displaces the parts.

The Solution:

The pick & place head is equipped with custom made charging electrodes that exactly fit the head. A 24V small charging generator CM-Tiny supplies the electrodes with up to 20 kV charging voltage. The underside of the transport belt is equipped with a grounded metal plate as counter electrode.

This configuration enables the shoe parts that are placed by the pick & place robot to stick to the transport belt and each other, preventing any movement that could disrupt the precise placement.
